Our Origin Story.

Founded as a nonprofit in 2017, the Dana Point Surf Club is not merely a gathering of surf enthusiasts & competitors, but a community-based movement, etching its own chapter in Dana Point History. Born out of a partnership with West Coast Boardriders Club, the Dana Point Surf Club has transcended the traditional confines of a surf club by embracing the past, present and future of Dana Point and serving the vibrant community that calls these waves home.

    We set out on the vessel Sum Fun for a day of fishing, laughter, and connection. From reeling in the day’s catch to sharing boat burgers and stories on deck, the smiles said it all.

    These trips aren’t just about fishing — they’re about creating memories, and showing our groms the magic of the ocean. This is what community looks like: generations coming together, supporting each other, and celebrating the simple joy of being out on the water.
